 mCore 1.8 SMS ActiveX Component
 International Language SMS Demo (mCoreDemoIntl.vbp)
=========================================================

These instructions apply only to the part of the demo used for sending Unicode messages in international languages using the Visual Basic demo project (mCoreDemoIntl.vbp).

--------------------------------------------
I. GENERAL INFORMATION
--------------------------------------------
1. This demo uses Microsoft Forms 2.0 Controls, Fm20.dll. The Fm20.dll is NOT a redistrubatable.

2. You must have an application such as Microsoft Office 97 on the target system that installs Fm20.dll as part of its setup. (Fm20.dll is included with the OSR2 and OSR2.5 releases of Windows 95.) You can also find this file on the Visual Basic 5.0 CD under the \TOOLS\DataTool\Datatool\Msdesign folder. This will be installed only if you run the setup for the Visual Database Tools.

3. As an alternative to installing Microsoft Office, you can freely download and install the Microsoft ActiveX Control Pad, which also installs the Fm20.dll. For more information, see the following Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) Web site:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnaxctrl/html/cpad.asp

4. For more details about Fm20.dll please refer to the Microsoft knowledge base article "INFO: Usage and Redistribution of FM20.DLL" (Article ID KB224305) at: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;224305

5. For your Visual basic application, we suggest that you use third-party Unicode aware control library. e.g. http://www.unitoolbox.com, http://www.cyberactivex.com etc.

II. HOW TO USE THE DEMO (mCoreDemoIntl.vbp)
--------------------------------------------

1. To use this demo, you will also require a suitable Unicode aware keyboard or 'Input Method Editor' (IME) for the language, and also a suitable font.

2. One of the good Unicode fonts we have come across is the shareware Code2000 font which can be downloaded from: http://home.att.net/~jameskass/code2000_page.htm

3. Set your language and keyboard option from Control Panel ('Regional Language Options' applet in WinXP or 'Keyboard Setttings' in Win2000).

4. Type your message in a Text file using Notepad.

5. Save the text file with Unicode encoding (Select option 'Unicode' from 'Encoding' drop down menu in the File Save dialog).

6. Import this text file by clicking on 'Import Text File' button and the text typed in the text file should display in the text box (You can also simply copy-paste from the text file to the text box!).

7. Click on 'Send Message' button to send the message (Uses connection, validity and long messsage settings from the main form).

8. For your quick benefit, we have included some unicode text files for test purpose.

NOTE: Message will be readable on the recipient's phone provided it supports the Unicode character display for the language selected.
